Perfect Spot to read a Book

Some adventurers and fun lovers resort to long trips across mountains and jungles. You must have seen lots of such interesting vlogs, where vloggers and tourists discover beautiful places and amazing sceneries of course sequel to toilsome endeavors. I wondered “Why put in so much of an effort and for what reason? Is it just an impulsive craving or something more valuable and special! But moments later it all dawned upon me in a moment of revelation, once I recline in my comfortable chair and got indulged into reading my favorite book.

In essence, every person fantasizes about a favorite spot or action which offers peace of mind and solaces earnest desires. The physical adventure provides such a sense of comfort and satisfaction to some– for the avid book readers, it’s the joy of reading books in our favorite spots. I must say that book readers are pretty humble souls. The comfy shade of a benign tree may suffice the need for a favorite spot for many book readers. Whether a tree-shade or a comfortable chair, such a place is quite necessary for a booklover to absorb, assimilate and reflect. The comfortable recluse of a perfect spot seems stimulating and the book reader truly feels on cloud nine, unless he is called back by the shrieking woes of the naïve.

Why Select a Perfect Spot for Reading Books?

The comprehension of such a perfect spot or the perfspot (as I call it), varies from person to person. It is truly a very private feeling. Experienced and cherished by true book lovers. You may recall and may even associate certain places with certain people. Like! Old grumpy grandpas sitting at the porch, on a deckchair maybe, perhaps basking in the sun and reading the morning times. While a nerdy couple of university teens can always be spotted occupying the same seats at the library and buried deep down in books —it’s actually their perfspot to read books. Such people enjoy the life to fullest. They have understood their needs, prioritized, and are accustomed to enjoying the subtilities. They read books, enjoy the moments, and evolve in life. So, the choice of a perfect spot or the best place for reading books is in fact a step towards self-improvement. Well! No self-help book is going to teach you that. Let’s see and identify our perfect spots for ourselves…

  1. Comfy Reading Spot Near Fireplace.  A soft and supportive armchair draped in a throw is the most ideal place for reading a book. The experience is obviously more mawkish if there’s an adjacent fireplace, with a crackling and warm little fire burning. A passionate book reader would be so imbibed in the literary fest to notice that the dying fire. Until it’s cold and he pulls the throw over and succors fire with another log. I would love to sit like this and read books during warm winter nights. Charles Dickens, Leo Tolstoy, Walter Scott, or perhaps John Grisham, Jeffery Archer be my companions for the night.
  2. Bars and Lobbies. Elegant hotels and stylish restaurants possess signature lobbies and bars. Furnished to great taste, offer an appealing experience. Waiting customers may simply wait here while zealot book lovers find these bars or lobbies admirable for reading books. As a stranger in a new town, I feel the reassuring support of my book in hand while sitting down to read at such fantastic lobbies and bars. Mystery novels and thrillers are my favorite books to read at such sittings. I got myself busy with Deadly Cross by famous mystery author James Patterson recently at a hotel lobby.
  3. Parks and Recreations. Everybody loves parks and recreation. Well, obviously it’s a sitcom as well but I visualize the natural scenery of real flowers and beautiful plants for my book reading fling. Parks are a great place for learning. Even Newton discovered gravity whiles sitting under an apple tree… So, I also love to enhance my learning by reading books at a little pocket park right beside my home. It’s a lovely place with wooden benches, beautiful daffodils, and a small fountain. Park’s ambiance is perfect to understand the deeper expressions of poetry. The rhythms and time-honored ideas of great poets such as William Shakespeare, Homer to modern American marvels such as Robert Frost and Emily Dickinson are easier to comprehend in such a serene setting.
  4. Coffee shops. One of the world’s best book reading experiences can be enjoyed at a coffee shop. It doesn’t matter whether you are sitting at Cafe Central in Vienna or a local coffee shop—as long as you have a hot, cupful of favorite blackish delicacy, a book in hand, and a cool afternoon drizzle. It is a reader’s dream, where passion and taste are combined. Even the curtest titles of the nonfiction genre sound pleasing indeed. Most coffee shops offer free Wi-Fi. One can easily surf the online bookstores as well to browse for the latest releases and bestseller books. I read a few chapters of Plato’s Republic at a small roadside coffee shop, downtown. The Socratic dialogue and aromatic flavor are hinged together in my memory.
  5. Public Library. One such name that charts every book reader’s list—textbook ambiance and novelty for the determined and aged to perfection book readers. A library is always forthcoming and naturally alluring for book lovers: magnificent bookshelves, well-stocked caroused, catalogs to find the books from different authors, indeed a great place to explore and experiment with various kinds of books and genres.
  6. Your Bed Your Way. My last read of the day is in my bed and yours might be as well. The bedtime ritual always starts on a haggle with the pillow, a tug here, and a push there, till one finds a perfectly comfortable spot. Of course, the trying moment never dominates the pleasurable book reading experience—which helps us to drift away into the land of dreams, soundly. Once you snuggle down the comfy sheets of your bed it’s better to select some soft and heartwarming titles from fiction series. The bedtime book reading is a complete act for which every book lover prepares aptly. Reading glasses, side lamp, comfy cushions, and favorite books neatly laid alongside. So, are you ready to claim your bedtime in a new way―if not done yet?

The perfect spot for book reading is not about claiming or reserving a certain place only. It is in fact a lifestyle option. We must understand what our heart wants and give to the soul what it deserves. In this way, our body would respond better in a mindful manner and we shall enjoy or book reading more than ever.
